Call the Goddamn Presses

Over a year after breaking our old one while on our honeymoon, D$ and I have (gasp!) purchased a new camera.

This is part of the reason we were over budget last month (although mostly we just like to tell ourselves that). It was also our Christmas present to ourselves.

It is just a fancy point-and-shoot - we can't afford (and don't deserve since neither one of us knows jack about photography) a digital SLR. Whatever. The camera arrived today and I ran straight home and took this photo of my living room. At 7 pm in the winter. Without flash. Also, without cleaning my living room or even taking off my coat.

Isn't she lovely? Yes, I mean both the photograph and my living room. And Oscar the Couch, who is excellent for napping and book reading.

  1. Are those cat beds on your red love seat? Cute room. I love the colors!!! And I have to say when I first started reading your post I had already noticed the picture of the couch, so when you said you "broke it on your honeymoon", I thought you were referring to the couch. And then I thought you were extremely sassy. And then I got jealous.

  2. @Shanner: Bwa ha ha ha ha! I wish! Except that then I would miss the couch. Also: why of course those are cat beds.

  3. I love Oscar the Couch. He does look sublime for napping!

  4. Dude, that is some sweet point and shoot action. My camera, without flash, is only good for taking pictures of the trees in the sun and taking pictures of bowel underneath the surgery lights.

    I like the cat bedz.

  5. What a cute room! And damn, that's some impressive non-flash action from a point-and-shoot. What kind of camera is it?

  6. @Becky: it's a Canon PowerShot SX130 IS.
@Blind Irish Pirate: well, I just can't count the number of times I've needed to take a picture of bowel under surgery lights.
