WWII Veteran Speaks about Marriage Equality

I found this via boingboing and it made me cry.

Excerpt: "The woman at my polling place asked me "Do you believe in equality for gay and lesbian people?" I was pretty surprised to be asked a question like that. It made no sense to me. Finally I asked her: what do you think I fought for in Omaha Beach?

  1. This is incredible, thank you for posting it.

I was just reading an article describing the age gap in acceptance of marriage equality - saying that across religion, ethnicity, etc., young people are more in favour of marriage equality than older people. That makes this man's speech all the more powerful to me.
